alwaysbecookin'

alwaysbecookin' is a community space which has a hackerhouse & makerspace, home nursery, community library, and book/artifact/stationary store in Guwahati exploring hyperlocal questions through hands-on making and open knowledge sharing.

We use an integrated terminology system: spaces, fibers, skills, seeds, saplings and projects. spaces refer to physical locations, fibers refer to activities/verbs that happen within/across spaces. skills are the capabilities needed to execute work across fibers. seeds are wishful ideas, saplings are ideas we’re actively working on, and projects are completed initiatives.

We care for local impact over universal solutions. Building infrastructure for creation, documentation, and connection. We believe in being curious without an agenda.

• It's an *information synthesis* center. We take in information from various sources and try to answer questions around it, build things around it, *for things we care about/areas of interest*.
• It's a *casual space* to be curious, to have fun, to learn, to create, to unwind, to get things done, to ponder, to get inspired, to fuck around, to find out, to build shit, to run it back. We don't worry about age.
